ACID STAINING
Give some life to your floors with acid and chemical staining. By using a wide range of rich colors, tones and highlights, One Awesome Concrete can create a rich, textured look on your existing concrete slab inside your home, on outdoor patios and commercial concrete floors such as restaurants and office buildings.
OVERLAYS
The overlay is a high strength, cementitious material designed for creating an extremely smooth or textured finish over the top of your current concrete slab and can be custom colored to achieve over 30 base colors and then can be stained.
One Awesome Concrete's projects are protected with two coats of a water-based sealer/solvent to help ensure the life of your floors. In addition, they recommend adding four to six coats of wax over the sealer to allow for easy cleaning and maintenance. All outdoor projects are protected with two coats of a UV-based sealer/solvent for maximum protection from outdoor exposure.
ACID STAIN COLORS
Notice to Customer/Homeowner:
Reactive stains are very unique chemicals; they give beautiful color and dazzling effects. Depending on your expectations, some of the effects that reactive stains create may be construed as defects. Color variation will occur in the concrete due to the particular set of chemical properties of each slab, even in a slab that appears consistent in color. Therein lies the stone-like beauty of this process.
Do expect to get different reactions from one surface to another and even within the borders of the same slab.
Some characteristics are:
- Will not cover evenly
- Will not cover sealed or painted surfaces
- Will give different color on different batches of concrete
- Will not give exact color
- Will show concrete defects and blemishes through the stain
- Will show areas of discoloration through the stain
The concrete itself controls the effects from reactive stains. If you must have an even color or if you are trying to match or color coordinate, if you feel that there should be no difference in color over the entire surface, or do not want to see any spots, marks or flaws, we recommend a Silicone Acrylic.
